Many orphanages rely on massive funding efforts to cover expenses. We have decided to go a different route. Through our assistance with the Salvation Army Orphanage we met two kids that became part of our family. We met Denok, who now runs Mahanaim Village, when she was just 14. We supported her through her time at the Salvation Army Orphanage and after she left at the age of 18, she came to the US to be with us. She has been an incredible addition to our family and we could not imagine life without her. We met Shinta, our other foster daughter, when she was 4. Though she has remained in Bali throughout the years, we still look at her as our daughter. She is currently in school to be a flight attendant with Garuda Airlines. We just want others to experience what we have with these two incredible girls! Our hope is that the sponsorship program will accomplish this. As we finish additional homes we will be adding kids as well. The goal is to have sponsors in place as the kids arrive. We don’t want to over extend. We are hoping to have a small waiting list of 8 sponsors. That way, when a house is built and we move in the kids, each one will be properly taken care of.
