Renee and I met in 1996, just a week after I had decided to leave the military. Renee was a loan officer at a mortgage company in Atlanta and I was an Air Force pilot and part time real estate investor. After leaving the military, I started with United Airlines in 1997, the same year we opened a mortgage company together. We were married in September of 2002 and honeymooned in Bali. Renee’s parents were missionaries in Jakarta, where she was born, and she had always wanted to return. We spent 2 weeks in Bali and fell in love with this beautiful island. We knew that Bali was going to be a big part of our future. Over the years, we used my knowledge of real estate and Renee’s knowledge of mortgages to grow a real estate portfolio. That portfolio included 2 Villas in Kerobokan, Bali. Over the years, we returned to Bali too many times to remember. We have made life long friends and have come to call Bali, home.
